Pell Grant Application Deadline

The Pell Grant Application, also known as the FAFSA, has a different deadline date for each state.  Some states require students to submit their Pell Grant Application in the beginning of March, while other states require students to submit their application by the beginning of July.  It’s important to contact your school’s financial aid office to determine when your Pell Grant Application is due.

There is only one application needed to become eligible to receive the Pell Grant, which is the FAFSA application.  The FAFSA stands for the Federal Application fir Federal Student aid and is the only application necessary for students wanting federal financial aid.  Federal Financial aid included all federal student loans, federal student grants, and any other form of federal financial aid.

Once the application has been completed and submitted to the Department of Education, all students will receive the SAR, Student Aid Report.  This report will indicate how much financial aid a student is eligible to receive for the upcoming school year.  All students that are considered low income and have a high COA (Cost of Attendance) will most likely receive some type of federal financial aid.

Students that are not considered low income and are not eligible to receive the Pell Grant may be eligible to receive the unsubsidized Stafford loan.  This type of loan offers very competitive interest rates and favorable repayment terms, since this loan is offered through the federal government’s Direct Loan program.  Students that aren’t in need of additional financial aid, but would like to receive more aid for the upcoming school term will be eligible to receive the Unsubsidized Stafford Loan.
